Commercial Construction Superintendent - Full-time positions located in the Central Valley, Fresno, and Bay Area

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of commercial construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Superintendent will act as the key point of contact between project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders, maintaining effective communication and coordination throughout the construction process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Project Oversight: Lead and manage multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and specification

- Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, construction crews, and other on-site personnel, providing direction and support to achieve project goals.

- Quality Control: Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards. Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions when necessary.

- Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring that all phases of construction are completed efficiently and on time. Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changing conditions or requirements.

- Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring that all financial objectives are met. Report budget-related issues or discrepancies to project stakeholders.

- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders. Facilitate clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during construction in a timely and effective manner to minimize disruptions.

- Safety Management: Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and best practices. Conduct safety meetings and training sessions as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.

- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial construction management, with a proven track record of successfully completing projects on time and within budget. Public Works experience is a plus.

SKILLS:

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in construction software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Certifications: OSHA certification and other relevant certifications are a plus.

Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work on-site in various weather conditions and to lift heavy materials as needed.
• Frequent walking, standing, and climbing on construction sites.
