Huff Construction is seeking a skilled and dependable construction professional in the Truckee area to support field operations and contribute hands-on carpentry skills across a variety of commercial projects. This role combines leadership, customer service, coordination, and trade skills to help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working closely with project leadership, subcontractors, and crew members in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day field supervision and coordination of construction activities.
- Perform carpentry work including framing, finish work, installation, repair, and general site tasks.
- Support scheduling, sequencing, and workflow to help keep projects on track.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project details to support accurate execution in the field.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to promote efficient jobsite operations.
- Help monitor quality, safety, and compliance with project requirements and company standards.
- Identify issues in the field and communicate concerns or recommendations to project leadership.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and productive work environment.
- Assist with material handling, layout, and other tasks as needed to support project progress.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in carpentry and commercial construction field operations.
- Understanding of construction methods, materials, and jobsite practices.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong communication, customer service and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems in the field.
- Knowledge of safety practices and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, climb, bend, and perform physical work in varying site conditions.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to changing project needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting supervisory responsibilities on construction projects.
- Background in trade skills and carpentry work.
- Familiarity with project coordination, scheduling, and site logistics.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with a good attitude.
- Experience using common hand and power tools safely and effectively.
